Programs and Projects
Field Days and Pasture Walks
The Arkansas Grazing Lands Coalition (AGLC) sponsors field days and pasture walks to keep ranchers and landowners informed about the latest and most effective sustainable grazing practices. These events provide a first-hand look at rotational grazing, fencing techniques, watering systems, and more, implemented on actual working lands by Arkansas producers. Attendees also have the opportunity to learn more about the technical and financial assistance offered by the U.S Department of Agriculture through its grazing programs.
Follow AGLC on Facebook at @ArkansasGLC for notices on scheduled field days or contact your local conservation district or USDA county office to find out about events in your area.
Grazing Lands Annual Conference
The Arkansas Grazing Lands Coalition (AGLC) sponsors an annual conference in which both local and nationally-recognized speakers talk about their personal experience with sustainable grazing practices. This conference gives producers the opportunity to hear from their peers how sustainable grazing increases profitability and protects precious natural resources. It's also a great opportunity to meet and visit with other Arkansas producers, and conservation district and U.S. Department of Agriculture employees, and equipment and service vendors.
Visit the Annual Conference page on this website for more information and follow ALGC on Facebook at @ArkansasGLC for conference scheduling and registration.
Speakers Bureau
The Arkansas Grazing Lands Coalition (AGLC) maintains a cadre of Arkansas grazing producers who have volunteered to speak at grazing-related events across the state. These producers have direct experience implementing sustainable grazing practices and can talk about their personal experiences, the lesson they've learned, and the benefits they've earned. These producers are also available to speak in high school, college, and university classrooms.
If you would like to schedule an AGLC speaker at an upcoming event or for a classroom presentation contact Holly Anderson at hollylanderson430@gmail.com. Holly can match your event or classroom needs with a speaker from our list. These speakers are sponsored by AGLC and there is no charge for their service.
